When you arrive at that rather enviable place in your life called retirement, you discover that it truly is yet another new beginning in what has proven to be a series of new beginnings. You have a wide array of options in front of you for discovering that new retiree job. And along with these opportunities, you have brought with you into this new arena, many of your old dreams.

Old Dreams

Did you, as St. Paul so nobly put it, "set aside childish ways" when you were no longer a child? If you are at all like me, those early dreams of yours - unless you actually fulfilled them in your workaday career world - are still in there humming little siren songs to you. I have a friend who's been in middle management in corporate America, now has her own online business, yet still wants to own a roasted chicken restaurant - and she's 67 years old!

What are your old dreams, and wouldn't you love to move into them and fulfill them in a new job now that you are a senior? Maybe find a part time opportunity that would keep you active, social, bring in a few dollars, and help your old dream happen in a place of your choice?

A Successful Career

Like many of us, you more than likely had a wonderful career prior to your retirement. I'm quite confident that you found ways to spread your wings and achieve success while you were in that position. I also suspect that you increasingly earned incrementally higher wages; unfolded greater and stronger skills; were promoted into positions of greater authority, saved and invested for your retirement, and now, here you are.

Your success is applaudable, and yet, I imagine there is still one big dream left inside of you that niggles at you and you wonder to yourself, "Can I make this happen at my age? Is it possible to be successful in this economy? Would my family see me as mildly insane to pursue this now?"

Old Fears Resurrected

Many of us don't follow our old dreams because of some fears inside us. Fear that someone won't approve. Fear that we can't fund the dream. Fear that we won't succeed. Fear that we will succeed. When we find ourselves looking for a part time job as a retiree, unless we've truly worked through those old fears, guess what? Yes, we have another opportunity to get a handle on them. But this time, we're not the high school graduate who quaked. We're a much stronger, more resourceful, more wise senior and we can see solutions now that we could see then. We're imagining "I'll just bet I could do that now." And our eyes begin to twinkle, and the promise of one last hurrah waves at us from the end of the tunnel.

Think and Grow Rich

Napoleon Hill's wonderful book Think and Grow Rich was first published in 1937. It was truly a predecessor to the Law of Attraction movement currently sweeping the country - perhaps the world. Mr. Hill did not think that blatantly enumerating the steps for success was the way to go, but, due to his interview of Andrew Carnegie, he learned them and wove the into the book. He even called them a 'magic formula.' He said those steps are in the book in over 100 places! You can download it for free on the internet.

Today, we have the same opportunity to use his words of wisdom to:

* Craft a new part time job for us as retirees

* Make our old dreams manifest

* Enjoy one more rich experience in our one sweet life

Opportunities abound in the multi-level marketing world (MLM) and you have there a wide-open arena with lots of support to craft a new success for yourself. I encourage you to do a bit of internet research around this idea.

Yes, You Can!

Are there words of doubt echoing in your mind? Do you know how to stifle them? Can you walk courageously into your next opportunity even if they're in there? I imagine that the "you" you are now has a much stronger character and set of virtues than the you who might have set your dream aside to follow another career. I imagine that you now have the ability to avoid many of the pitfalls incumbent in that old dream. I think that today's you still wants to! And I imagine that today's you is fully capable. I applaud your success, because I suspect you're going to craft it.
